You could learn how to make the Strickly Stock Car on NR2003. Description: The SSC combines the best elements of the previous six generations of cars, such as the safety features of the fifth and sixth generation, the speed of the fourth generation, and the brand identity of the first three generations. In reality, the SSC isn't much of a new car, rather that all models are just race-modified versions of showroom models, with modifications to the engine, chassis, body, and interior, but with no alterations to the overall appearance of the vehicle or its aerodynamics (the SSC has an engine that sounds identical to that of the Gen-4 car). Of course, you'd need to download the full NR2003. You could ask Griffdawg, a YouTuber, for advice.
The only thing we'd need to do is replace the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series logos at North Wilkesboro, and make variants with the Panasonic Cup Series logo, but otherwise, these will save us alot of work.
On another note, I got a new headset yesterday with a built-in mic splitter, so I was thinking we could make video recaps of the Johnsonverse NASCAR seasons using NR2003, and narrated by me. We could style it as a top-10 highlights sort of deal like Griffdawg did with "What if Dale Earnhardt Never Died?"
I decided I just wasn't satisfied with the current look. I felt a new BG would look better. It's based on the graphics of the 1988 Daytona 500 Starting Grid. Also, thanks. Now we need the base NR2003. And great idea. One of the highlights would be complete with a rockin' starting grid like the ones Ken Squier or Brock Beard would do.
I have NR2003. I can send you a copy of my installation (which has been fully patched and has a no-cd exe), but be aware I've made a bunch of ini changes for better graphics, plus have installed alot of tracks and mods (and cars) for my alternate history offline league (including a proto version of Tim Johnson with my real name, a proto version of Chloe named Katie, and a proto version of Belle with the surname Johnson; if you see a driver with the first name "Andy", PRETEND YOU SAW NOTHING AND DELETE THE CAR FILE). Note that there are no cars in my install that I painted myself, because I suck at painting.
Just give me your email, and I'll send it to you express in a .rar file.
Really, all we'd need for the 2014 and 2015 carsets is to replicate the paint schemes of those years. Jayski can aid us in that.
For 2016-onward, we'll have to get creative for the newer teams. I will say that, for the revived DEI, Dale Jr.'s 8 car looks identical to his original 8 car.
For the holdouts still using the Gen-6 car, as well as for the Lend-Lease entries, it may be easier to take assets from other mods such as BR Gen 6, Aero88, Cup90, GN69st, GN70ss, the default Cup cars, and other mods, and for cars not in NR2003, those will probably have to be scratchbuilt.
Also here's an LJM update: I'll be expanding the list of protagonists, to include Olga Trittle, Becky Jones, and former bullies Michael and JD Jeffries, who are exposed by Olga as wearing pink bunny pajamas as sleepwear. The franchise is now The Kids of Hills Beach, and the wiki is where anyone can write episodes Larry, Jimmy, and Maddie's personalities have been established, but Michael, JD, Olga and Becky's are up to the users. They'll be decided by a poll.
Perfect. John Andretti retires same as otl, but I don't remember when that is. Also, Pontiac leaves NASCAR in prior to the 2002 season instead of after the 2003 season, do to dodge and chevrolet constantly outperforming them.
Alright, I want to make the Ralph Earnhardt page for Dale Earnhardt Survives, so I will leave the Adam Petty Survives images to you. You are good at finding convincing images that the driver is still alive.
Hey, thanks for adding the Ralph Earnhardt link to the DES porthole, I was just going to but then I saw you did. Hey, if you ever want to take a break from working let me know, I'm very understanding, don't overwork that talent, I'd hate for you to loose any of it!
Of corse. Just added the 2015 Adam Petty image to the port-hole. You can find the fictional 2005 Adam Petty STP #45, download it, take the number, put it on a 2D pic of the real life 2016 Twisted Tea #44, replace Brian Scott's name, and replace Albertson's and Shore Lodge logos with Well's Fargo logos to create the current paint scheme that Adam drives. Adam can also have STP on the #45 for a few races in 2005.
oh, kk. The first part sounds good, but I can't do image editing very well. I'm terribly sorry about that, but I'm more of a text person, I'm not to good with editing photos (like how I just got certain car angles for Tim Richmond Survives so it looked legitimate).
Alright, I'll keep working on the Davey Allison TL and create a few more pages and leave you to do the main Rodney Orr TL page. This is considering Davey Allison Survives is currently our 2nd most viewed tl behind Dale Earnhardt Survives currently. Sound good?
Hopefully the public will help edit it. It is an open TL for help. We'll work on it too, of course. But, this is what all these TLs were building up to, and sooner or later it would have to be started.
Saw it. I think I'll do a Rob Moroso or Tim Steele TL. Steele is still alive, but he was supposed to drive the famous #15 with the help of Bud Moore and Brett Farve, who was a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. Steele would have had sponsorship from both Nike and Sony. But a practice crash at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Nov. 1997 forced the team to delay until 1999, and it was later scrapped.
