Treponema pallidum

The 1969 Bremen Conference on Venereal Disease made great progress in combating the viruses.

It lead to a major drive to created a vaccine and new, more effective, treatments for it.

This also lead to the the promise by the major drug companies to give reduced price medication to Central America, South America, Nepal, Bhutan, South East Asia, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, the minor Pacific Islander nation like Tuvalu and all of non-islamic Africa as of 1997!
